 Terrorism Awareness Training
 
We are holding free terrorism awareness training on Monday 6th June, 11am-1pm at Y Plas - Cardiff University Student's Union, Park Place, Cardiff CF10 3QN. This course is open to any business based in Cardiff.

Counter Terrorism Policing Wales (formally WECTU) will give a briefing on the latest advice from Action Counters Terrorism (ACT) and introduce the 'Protect' legislation which will come into force in the Autumn and place new responsibilities on businesses.

They will also be joined by the Cyber Resilience Centre for Wales who will brief businesses on the latest cyber threats and discuss their membership packages. 

Tea and coffee will be provided afterwards and the FOR Cardiff Business Engagement Team will be available to speak to member businesses.

Preview of Scaredy Cats Cafe Bar - Attendee Survey
 
Last Wednesday 18th May, over 60 members with The Card attended an exclusive member event at Scaredy Cats Cafe Bar on Working Street.

Members were able to preview the venue before it officially opened to the public and enjoy complimentary food and drink. Scaredy Cats also added an offer to The Card which means all members can get a 10% discount on drinks!

Violence Against Women and Girls Survey
 
We encourage every individual to take the Violence Against Women and Girls Safety Survey.

Results of the survey will help shape South Wales Police's response to violence against women and girls in Cardiff and the Vale.

This is your opportunity to have your voice heard and make a difference to the way South Wales Police tackles violence against women and girls. The survey closes on 1st July 2022.

 Deadline for Applications to the City Ambition Fund
 
Applications for the City Ambition Fund close this Friday, 27th May at 5:30pm.

Apply for grants of up to £5,000 for projects that:
  • Directly impact multiple business’s recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic
  • Help Cardiff businesses transition to the green economy
  • Help the central Cardiff economy adapt to the hybrid working model
  • Position the city centre as a leisure and culture destination of choice, making the city fun, open, and accessible
  • Centre equality, diversity, and inclusion in the Cardiff business community
  • Improve the public environment of Cardiff

 Road Closures: Ed Sheeran & My Chemical Romance
 
Ed Sheeran will be performing at Principality Stadium on May 26th, 27th and 28th and to facilitate these events, a full city centre road closure will be in place.

My Chemical Romance will also be performing on Saturday May 28th at Sophia Gardens Cricket Ground.

On both May 26th and the 27th, there will be a full city centre road closure from 4.30pm until 12.30am. On Saturday May 28th, the road closure will be put in place slightly earlier, from 2pm until 12.30am.

 Transport for Wales Community Consultation
 
Join Transport for Wales for their Urban Room workshop at Grange Pavilion on Wednesday, 25th May, 9am - 1pm, as part of the Community Consultation for Quality of Life (CCQOL) programme of events.

BITC Cymru Age-Inclusive Learning Network
 
Business in the Community Cymru in partnership with Age Cymru are helping businesses to become more age-inclusive in retaining, retraining and recruiting older workers.

Through the Age-Inclusive Learning Network, BITC Cymru brings together a small group of HR, inclusion and wellbeing professionals to learn from each other, share best practice and provide support to help businesses develop an Age-Inclusive Action Plan.
