The Bi-Weekly News of Paradise Valley Christian Preparatory

Thank You!

The board, administration, staff, and faculty would like to thank all of our parents for a phenomenal year! In spite of all the challenges and abnormalities posed by COVID, the PVCP community was supportive and encouraging in adjusting to a varied routine. We are so grateful you have chosen to partner with PVCP in molding your children into who Christ has called them to be. We are excited to have a return to normalcy in the fall semester with increased extracurricular activities, social events, field trips, and more! We wish you and your family a safe and healthy summer!

A Message from PAC

Thank you to all of our parent volunteers who have participated in PAC meetings and events! It is through your efforts that we have been blessed with fun and fellowship during this challenging year. Thank you for your willingness to build into our PVCP community!

Next year we look forward to combining what we have learned by navigating this “unique” year with the normalcy of years past, and all to the glory of God! Enjoy your summer break, and please think and pray about how you might like to serve our community with your gifts in the coming school year!

Year-End Festivities

Below you will find a schedule of year-end festivities and recognitions by grade level. While the schedule has been modified somewhat this year, we hope you’ll be able to join us as we celebrate your students’ accomplishments throughout the year. Please keep in mind, while the lower and middle school ceremonies will include Christian character awards for all students, the upper school ceremony will only recognize the top students by subject matter. Unless otherwise noted, activities take place in the Fraley Center, PVCP’s gymnasium.

Finally, individual homeroom or grade level teachers will communicate directly with parents regarding end-of-year parties, and in some cases they will be asking for parent volunteers to coordinate. Please reach out to homeroom or grade level teachers directly with any questions you might have about this.

Staff and Administration Announcements

Gil Nadolny
We are excited to announce that longtime PVCP faculty member Gil Nadolny will be stepping into a new role as Faculty Mentor. Gil has faithfully served the Lord in his professional calling for 38 years, 16 of which have been at PVCP, and he has a passion for mentoring and equipping the next generation of Christian teachers. In his new role, Gill will step out of the classroom setting and focus on professional capacity building in PVCP's dedicated faculty. We are grateful for Mr. Nadolny's continued presence on our campus.

Stephanie Nyhart
We also want to announce that PVCP Nurse Stephanie Nyhart is retiring at the end of this school year. She has faithfully cared for and loved PVCP's children for nearly two decades. We are forever grateful for her dedication to caring for our students and her level headedness in addressing health issues on campus. Be sure to stop in and express your gratitude to Mrs. Nyhart before the end of the school year. We are excited that current PVCP parent Sonja Kerth, a Nurse Practitioner, will fill this vital role in the fall!

Medications in the Nurse's Office

If you have medication for your child in the nurse's office, please remember to pick up any remaining items when school is out. Thank you!

Congratulations, Third Grade Students!

We want to extend congratulations to several of our third grade students whose poetry was selected to be featured in the Celebration of Poetry anthology! As Mrs. Frost shared, she has never had this many student winners in the Creative Communications contest! Student winners were: Sylvie Block, Corban Bohnett, Rachel Browne, Benjamin Camen, Carter Delarosa, Kyleigh Feld, Jack Hanon, Micah Hensiek (not pictured), Max Macgurn, Jason Namie, Isaiah Napoleon, Brennan Nutt, Wyatt Shaw, Kaitlyn Vanata, and Charlotte White (not pictured).

Boxes Needed

If you have any extra moving boxes or banker boxes, we are always in need of those at the end of the year as we pack up curriculum and make some classroom changes. Please drop off any boxes you no longer need in the front office. Thank you!

Volunteers Opportunities

We could use some volunteer assistance in the following areas as the year comes to an end:

1. Parents to clear out the garden beds before heading into summer. Please contact your student's homeroom teacher to volunteer.
2. Assistance in moving picnic tables. Please notify Mrs. Chadwick at the front desk if this is something you would be interested in helping with, and she will communicate the timetable when we solidify the plan.

Scottsdale Worship Center Day Camp

Scottsdale Worship Center, one of PVCP's generous supporting churches, hosts an annual summer day camp that many of PVCP's families participate in. See the notice below for more information.

Scottsdale Worship Center’s Kids’ Day Camp is right around the corner, and we could not be more excited! This week is about helping kids to know the Lord’s love for them while they experience all the greatness of camp, including amazing morning services, team-building, activities, snacks, crafts, performing arts, and making new friends. If you’re a high school student who would like to volunteer, there’s a spot for you too! Also, we’re so happy to announce that PVCP's own Coach Wilson is the Rec Director this year!

Day Camp is Monday, June 14, through Friday, June 18, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and is designed for kids in 1st through 6th Grade. Younger kids ages four through kindergarten can attend Junior Day Camp!

Recognizing our Community Supporters

Several universities have supported PVCP financially over the past year, and we are very grateful for their partnership in raising up the next generation of Christian leaders!
We would also like to thank Janette Baranski of JC Realty for her generous support of PVCP!
Janette has always been passionate about serving people. As a happily married woman with two adult daughters, she is now using her passion and experience as a REALTOR by helping others find the perfect home.

For nearly 20 years, Janette was involved in planning and zoning for both commercial and residential property. Her background in this area allowed her to work with many people in difficult situations trying to find and secure a location for either their business or their family home.

Janette has lived in the valley for over 45 years, so she’s seen it grow over the years. She is active in her church serving people, and she simply loves life. Janette is devoted to using her time, energy, and motivation to focus solely on her clients' needs.
