In October mineral dust was suspended in the atmosphere over Cyprus. A team at CARE-C has been studying this dust event closely, using a number of model predictions, ground-based instruments, and drones.

A drone from the Unmanned Systems Research Laboratory (USRL) of the Climate and Atmosphere Research Center (CARE-C), The Cyprus Institute played a pivotal role in the detection and extinguishing of a fire, before it could spread and cause incalculable damage
The CARE-C CAO group, along with friends and family, celebrated the opening of the new station in the network, which currently hosts trace gas analysers (CO, NO2, NOy, O3 and SO2).
