Eco-social innovation: the need of a new design culture

Are there, or are there potentially, social innovations motivated by environmental concerns (or which integrate traditional social motivations with clear and explicit environmental motivations)? If so, what does design do, or what could design do, to promote and support the search for these eco-social innovations? And, to do so, should it change its culture? (continue reading).

DESIS Students - Improving the participation in DESIS Network

Students have always been essential to DESIS Network. The last DESIS Assembly in Bogotà included a discussion about the role of students in DESIS Network. It was a consensus that DESIS Network works mainly based on activities promoted by professors. Since them, we at DESIS coordination have been exploring the possibilities of developing an initiative “by” students themselves, or by professors to increase the direct participation of students. We happily announce that the second book of DESIS Thematic Areas, entitled "Design for Social Innovation and Services", is on its final production stages. The publication should be released on next June, during Cumulus Conference Rome 2020, in Rome. Cumulus Conference Rome 2020
