This month we are joined by Ashley Gwinnell from Force of Habit, who'll be giving his talk "All things ‘Game Feel’”.

If you've played any of Ash's games, you'll know that when it comes to game feel, he's one of the best in the business, so expect to hear all sorts about JUICING UP your game from one of the finest game feel proponents around.

Auroch Digital
Steam is having a Board Game Sale and Auroch Digital has ten products on offer in it. So if you fancy fighting cultists in New York, being a big ol' tank or cruising around America in 2025 have a look at our deals and pick up a bargain.

The following games are in the sale:

Infinite State Games
The grizzled, battle scarred, fruit obsessed Team ISG have got themselves a publisher for their colourful pinball platformer "Family Tree". The game should be coming to Nintendo Switch consoles WORLDWIDE before the Summer is out. It also features Bristol grime artist 'Drapes' performing over chiptunes so that should confuse a few people.
Big up the EastAsiaSoft crew! Enjoy this rather whimsical gif of what's almost certainly going to be the fruitiest game of 2019. Perhaps ever. Apart from Bubble Bobble. And maybe Rainbow Islands.
HEY YOU! Do you have any exciting development news you'd like us to put in next month's newsletter? Get in touch - contact details down at the bottom...
EVENTS DIARY
Marioke (August 8th) - Hit B Baby One More Time!
The international smash-hit video games themed karaoke night is coming to the South West for the very first time, following sell-out shows at GamesCom, GDC, and a long running residency at London's Loading Bar.
For those of you who are unaware of the phenomenon that is Marioke, basically it's a karaoke night where all the songs have been rewritten to be about video games. It's fun, it's funny, it's inclusive (you don't have to sing, but you'll definitely want to by the end), and it's a flipping great night out.

So come and experience the event that the Games Hub's own Lukas Roper called "The Best Night Ever". More details and tickets available now from: mariokebristol.eventbrite.com

BE QUICK THOUGH, CHUMS! 8th August is not far away and it's gonna be a night to remember.

Interactive Storytelling and the Immersive Revolution

Storytelling is experiencing a revolution and—like with all communication revolutions in the past—the emergence of new immersive mediums like MR and VR can and will change the way stories are told. While classical linear storytelling structures have been explored for millennia, being able to successfully build a satisfying narrative around the actions and interactions of the audience is a new challenge area being faced today by many writers, designers and developers.

In this Masterclass, Jed Ashforth from Realised Realities, former Immersive Experience Specialist at PlayStation, author of Sony’s VR best practice guidelines and one of the creators of PlayStation®VR, will explore the potential and pitfalls of interactive storytelling in 2019 and beyond, providing delegates with a deep understanding of the space and arming them with pragmatic techniques and approaches that can be used to successfully integrate audience choices and actions into your narratives.

Date: 24th September
Course Length: 1-Day Course (8 hours including breaks)
Location: Ukie Office, 18a, Black bull Yard, 24-28 Hatton Wall, EC1N 8JH
Cost: Details of cost available on Ukie website. (Ukie member discount available)
