                       The Tai Chi Events Bulletin

November 2018

Dear Tai Chi Friends,

I am sure many of you have already heard the sad news that our teacher, Master Benjamin Lo has passed away. He died in his home in San Francisco on October 12th. He was Professor Cheng man-Ching's first student in Taiwan and an indoor disciple, famous for his rooting skills.

Ben was a humble man and didn't want his passing to draw a lot of attention.  His last wishes for the Tai Chi Community were that we all practice hard and continue to improve ourselves and progress the art.

We are planning a celebration of Ben’s life and contribution to the art of Tai Chi Chuan. We will practice the form, enjoy a bit of pushing hands and have a few speakers remember Master Lo, followed by lunch at a nearby restaurant.

Please join us and share in the celebration.  Bring your favorite Ben memory. You know there is a funny story about how Ben got his…. Wait, we better save the stories for November 10th!

November 10th
Special Gathering in Memory of Grand Master Benjamin Lo

Friends and students of Master Lo will be hosting a special gathering in his honor.
The emphasis will be on Tai Chi form and push-hands practice, followed by a few memories and then lunch in a nearby resaurant.

Time. 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM
Location.  Cabin John Regional Park Tai Chi Court

New Tai Chi Court to be built in Redding, California

Great News!
Redding Tai Chi has been approved by USA TODAY Network to compete in the 2018 "A Community Thrives" (ACT) grant competition. This year, instead of votes, we need donations to show support for the project and qualify for the grants which will help us build the Tai Chi Meditation Garden. Fundraising will start on Monday, March 19th at 11:59am ET (8:59am California time) and ends Friday, May 11th, 2018 at 11:59am.
If everyone gave as little as $10.00 it would make a huge difference in our standing to be considered for the grant. Please be a part of this project by donating on the CrowdRise site. Your donation will go to the Shasta County Arts Council (SCAC) who is our fiscal sponsor*. Click on the following link to access our CrowdRise fundraising page:
