We are well into the new year and on behalf of the Mount Cinnamon Team, we trust it is full of exciting travel and fun times with family and friends.

We certainly enjoyed our festive season here in Grenada and have started the year welcoming back many familiar faces to the resort. It is always such a tremendous compliment when guests decide to return to Mount Cinnamon and certainly a testament to the friendly people of the Island.

The beginning of 2019 featured the annual Bill Fishing Tournament and Sailing Regatta, which were both huge successes and truly highlighted the best that the Island has to offer.

We were also fortunate to host two One Day International cricket matches between England and the West Indies on February 25th and 27th. Mount Cinnamon hosted guests in a VIP skybox for both games.

Of course, Easter is right around the corner as well as ‘Flavours of Grenada 2019’. The second Flavours of Grenada Food and Beverage Festival will occur May 20 – 27, 2019. The week-long festival will feature events that encourage participants to relax, revitalize and restore inner balance at their leisure. These events will be held at select locations around the island, before culminating with the Battle of the Flavours Extreme Culinary & Mixology Competition at Port Louis.

Also, who could forget the Grenada Chocolate Festival on May 31, 2019? To showcase our island’s rich chocolate offerings and deep cocoa farming roots, the annual Grenada Chocolate Festival, an event dedicated to all things sweet, savory and satisfying about chocolate, takes center stage. It’s the perfect time for visitors and locals to create and indulge in unique experiences with our pure, delicious organic chocolate.

In our “Meet The Team” section below, we introduce Sedrick Lewis, our Beach Supervisor and Oddisa Gellineau, our Reservations Manager.

With some very cold temperatures and mounds of snow up north, there is no better time to visit Grenada and Mount Cinnamon. The team here looks forward to your arrival!

Best wishes,

Oddisa Gellineau – Reservations Manager

Oddisa started with Mount Cinnamon in 2012 as a receptionist.  She quickly showed exceptional potential and now holds the position of Reservations Manager.  Oddisa’s communication and leadership skills along with her stellar manners and attitude have enabled her to excel in her position.

Oddisa holds dear to her heart her two daughters, Jaime and Kimaya, her mother Nicole and her dog Boy. She has a love for country music and enjoys watching sports, especially netball, cricket and football.  She finds pleasure in reading and is easily satisfied with “a good ole plate” of provision and salt fish sauce.

Being able to connect with the guests via telephone and finally meeting them is satisfying to me. Ensuring that their needs are met and they leave happy makes me content. I look forward to that every day.”

Sedrick Lewis – Beach Supervisor

Sedrick started at Mount Cinnamon as a bellman and later moved to the security team.  When the opportunity opened up to oversee the beach and watersports department at Mount Cinnamon, Sedrick jumped.  He is currently our Beach Supervisor and truly loves the position.  Sedrick is a connoisseur of all Grenadian foods, but ‘Oil Down’ holds a very special place in his heart.  Sedrick enjoys the game of cricket and football and was a member of the St. Andrews’ Cricket Team.

Sedrick grew up in Mirabeau St. Andrew where he met and married the love of his life, Judy Lewis, and raised six kids, Saydrell, Saylah, Saylyanna, Saydee, Sharina and Deron. One of Sedrick’s greatest achievements is his son, Saydrell, who now plays for a football team in Lebanon.

Life should be enjoyed, life should be memorable, life should be filled with smiles.  My connection with staff and guests is what I look forward to.  To be able to travel through my imagination to that place they call home is always intriguing.”
We were thrilled the Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall made a stop in Grenada during their recent royal visit to the Caribbean.  The Royal Highnesses visited Dive Grenada, Mount Cinnamon’s Dive Center, on March 23rd to view an exposition on the Blue Economy on the beach.
