Public and Broker Open House Feature Temporarily Disabled

On Sunday, Governor Jay Inslee signed an emergency declaration temporarily shutting down bars, restaurants and places of entertainment and recreation statewide, and capping all public gatherings at 50 people.  King County officials have taken similar action and have also prohibited gatherings with fewer than 50 people unless specific criteria for hygiene and social distancing are met.

As the news and impact of COVID-19 continues to rapidly evolve, NWMLS has made the difficult decision to temporarily disable the public and broker open house feature in the Matrix system.  NWMLS’s decision is strongly supported by the Governor’s office.

Until at least March 31st, brokers will not be able to input, search, or view public or broker open house information in Matrix.  Open house information will not be available for display on member public websites (IDX and VOW sites).  NWMLS will separately contact all listing brokers who have a scheduled open house to let them know it has been removed from Matrix.

Some listing brokers have been hosting virtual open houses on social media and using other virtual marketing resources during this difficult time.

NWMLS will provide updates on this issue and related issues as more information becomes available.
Please visit the CDC’s website and the Washington State Department of Health’s website for the latest updates about the disease.
