Adult Education at 9:00 am
During the season of Lent, the Adult Education class will be taking a close look at the last few chapters of the Gospel of Luke.  We'll be discussing his Passion, death and his rising.  Luke's community created a unique perspective on the meaning of all that Jesus did while he was among us. Make this class a central part of your Lenten devotional activities. We think it will "fill you to the brim" with Good News. The class will meet on Zoom at 9:00 am.

Children's Education at 9:15am
Join us via Zoom (links below)
In person classes will resume on Sunday, April 3,
from 9:15-10:15 in the church building!

Lent at FPC

During Lent help to create APRIL SHOWERS
of welcome and appreciation
each Sunday in Assembly Hall.
Create a card of welcome and love
that will be given in APRIL to guests at
the FOCUS Breakfast program.
Create a card of thanks and appreciation
for a healthcare worker,
which we’ll deliver in APRIL to area hospitals.

You can create these cards at home as well
and drop them off at the church.
We’re hoping for lots of showers!

Join us online each Wednesday during Lent,

March 30 and April 6,
for Taizé worship at 6:00 p.m.
We will livestream the service on Facebook.
Here is the Facebook link and here is the bulletin.

Our traditional Taizé services include simple, meditative songs,
scripture, prayer and silence. The liturgy for these services originated
with the Taizé community founded in France in 1940.

This community is an ecumenical, intentional community
with a twofold purpose: to seek communion with God

Finger Labyrinth Walks and Meditations occur each Thursday through April at 12:30pm via Zoom. Pastor Miriam, Certified Advanced Labyrinth Facilitator, leads each session, and our time together is 30 minutes. This time is open to all, whether you’ve walked a labyrinth in the past or not. Register here for Thursday, March 31, to receive the zoom link. Please have a Finger Labyrinth available - you can download a paper version if you don’t have your own or Jamie in the church office. Join us!

Advocacy Work

First Pres, through the Social Justice and Peacemaking Committee, has been
working with the Poor People’s Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival. Here are opportunities for education and advocacy

Join the Capital Region Poor People's Campaign and partner organizations, including the Columbia County Sanctuary Movement and NYS Nurses Association, for a Healthcare Justice Townhall!

In this virtual gathering, we’ll hear from directly impacted leaders in the struggle to fight for universal, equitable and accessible healthcare testify about the limits and failures of the for-profit healthcare system and then discuss how we all can resist, educate, and organize ourselves against it.

This event will be held over Zoom. Registrants will receive the call info.

Living on the Hinge of History - The Moral Claim of the Climate Crisis

God has granted each of us the opportunity to address the greatest moral crisis humanity has ever faced. All of Albany Presbytery is invited to a workshop presented by the Rev. Jim Antal on March 24th at 7pm on Zoom to explore how we can dive more deeply in responding to this call. We will examine not only the most recent science, but also our grief over the loss of our home. We will ponder how a few generations of humans have reaped immeasurable profits by devastating God’s great gift of creation as they built the modern world. We will see how we are living amidst a theological emergency in which the preservation of God’s creation has been reduced to an ideological debate. And we will identify the actions churches are taking as they seek to be faithful amidst the long emergency.

FELLOWSHIP TIME:  We're pleased to announce that Fellowship Time is once again being held in Assembly Hall, immediately following the Sunday Worship Service.  The Hospitality Team Coordinator Deacon David Hinchen is organizing this effort. As we no longer have a custodian and are no longer relying on flocks to oversee this task, we're seeking members of the congregation to assist with making coffee, bringing snacks, setting up and putting things away.  If you're available on any upcoming Sundays, please contact:

David Hinchen
