Educational Grant Recipients

First Presbyterian church has a long tradition of recognizing the importance of education and training for the enhancement of the many gifts, talents and abilities that God has given his people. Every year, the church gives educational grant to its members. Despite the pandemic and all the obstacles, the church is still able to award grant to nine students through the generosity of Ellen B Guernsey and Charles and Truman Cameron Funds. These young adults are passionate about learning and improving their education. All nine students are enrolled in institutions of higher learning where they are engaged in a variety of disciplines including, Finance, Global health, Business Administration and law.

Words really can’t express how grateful I am to be a recipient of this educational grant from session of First Presbyterian Church. This community has helped nurture me both spiritually and emotionally throughout the years and I wouldn’t be the person I am without the love and guidance of the congregation. Law school has been a challenging experience that has not only tested my mental fortitude ,but also my faith when I find myself in those brief moments of doubt. I find comfort and stability by keeping my faith in God. I am honored to have this gift bestowed on me and I will forever be indebted to the contributions of the Ellen B. Guernsey and Charles and Truman Cameron funds.
Thank you
