The Membership Committee thanks everyone who joined together for First Pres's joyful Sabbatical Celebration last Sunday. It was such a wonderful and happy occasion to welcome the return of Co-pastors Miriam and Glenn and to thank Pastor Amaury for serving as our Sabbatical pastor! About 100 members and friends attended the picnic in our parking lot, feasted on sandwiches, shortbread cookies, and ice cream, chatted with each other, and played games.
It took the work of many people to host this celebration, and the committee sincerely thanks everyone who helped out. We especially want to recognize Paloma Luisi, Jamie Mamone, Dwight Cheu, and Owen Gilbo and the Property Committee for making the plan a reality.
With sincere appreciation,
The Membership Committee - Ray Henrikson, David Hinchen, Jessica Lamson, Kelsey Mayo, Kate Pruzek, Roseline Takor, and Carol Green (chair)

First Pres, through the Social Justice and Peacemaking Committee, has been
working with the Poor People’s Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival. Here are opportunities for education and advocacy
************
Join us on Thursday September 15th at 6:30pm for a Capital Region Poor People's Campaign Organizing Meeting! This month we'll be meeting on Zoom only, not in-person.
Call info will be sent after you RSVP.
The Poor People’s Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival is bringing together people across the country who are organizing to build a broad and deep national moral movement — led by the poor, impacted, clergy and moral agents and reflecting the great moral teachings — to unite our country from the bottom up. Continue Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King’s work confronting the interlocking evils of systemic racism, poverty, militarism, and ecological devastation.
Learn more about this campaign and how you can take part!

The Outreach and Mission Committee is looking for several individuals to join our 6 on 6 dialogue team that will be meeting with representatives from the Walls Temple AME Zion congregation. Meetings will be held monthly to foster understanding, cooperation and mutual ministry support. For further information, please contact Debra or Eric Fagans (edfagans@mac.com). Pastor Alphonso Meadows of Walls Temple has led worship at First Presbyterian as part of our Black History Month observance and participated in our Advent Carol sing-alongs.

Handbell Choir Returns
Bell Choir rehearsals will resume Thursday, September 15, at 6:00pm in the sanctuary. We are looking for several new members for what is a very unique and fun musical experience. Experience ringing bells is not necessary, however, the ability to read music, especially rhythm and counting, and follow a score is required.
We perform for occasional Sunday worship services, Christmas Eve service and possibly for First Friday programs. Regular attendance at rehearsals is expected. We will, of course, observe COVID protocols as required. If you are interested in joining us, please contact Jack Holmes via email at Jack.W.Holmes@gmail.com. I would like to hear from returning members as well.

FELLOWSHIP TIME: We're pleased to announce that Fellowship Time is once again being held either in Assembly Hall or outside on Willett St. following the Sunday Worship Service. The Hospitality Team Coordinator Deacon David Hinchen is organizing this effort. As we no longer have a custodian and are no longer relying on flocks to oversee this task, we're seeking members of the congregation to assist with making coffee, bringing snacks, setting up and putting things away. If you're available on any upcoming Sundays, please contact:
