First Pres, through the Social Justice and Peacemaking Committee, has been working with the Poor People’s Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival. Here are opportunities for education and advocacy:

The Poor People's Campaign National Co-Chairs released this statement, in reaction to the events in DC on 1/6/21.

Our critical work of building unity and leadership among the poor and dispossessed continues with several important upcoming events:

The National Union of the Homeless Winter Offensive concludes this week on Friday, at 7pm, with "The Era of Revolution: Celebrating the PPC and the Movement to End Poverty Then and Now"

This event will be live streamed on Facebook and Youtube. You can also find recordings of previous Winter Offensive events at those links.

If you're watching any of these Winter Offensive events, let us know by filling out this short form. We'll be reflecting on the Winter Offensive at our January 19 organizing meeting (RSVP here.)

The general organizing meeting will be Tuesday, January 19, at 6:30pm on Zoom. We meet every month, on the 2nd Tuesday of each month, to learn together, strategize, and advance our work building the movement for justice. RSVP here and share the Facebook event!

At this meeting will introduce and have time to strategize with our newly formed working groups! You can learn more and let us know your interest in these groups by filling out this short form.

On January 28th at 7pm we'll be starting our study of "Black Reconstruction in America" by W.E.B. Dubois! These collective studies are critically important for developing our clarity and unity in organizing. If you're interested in participating, fill out this short form. We'll be meeting every other Thursday.
