Adult Education at 9:00-9:45 am

It's been a week of turmoil and violence, but also a week of beautiful weather and spring joys. During adult education this week, we'll share moments in which we caught a glimpse of God's creation -- whether in glimpsing a soaring hawk or feeling a fresh breeze. We'll pair our personal observations with poems, songs, and scripture that celebrate creation. Bring your favorite observation or poem or song that celebrates the creatures and land in which we live. Come and see the many ways that God is Good.

Trouble the Water

New and Exciting Educational Opportunity for the Entire Congregation

The new and exciting educational program “Trouble the Water:  Conversations to Disrupt Racism and Dominance" offered by the Anti Racism Task Force continues. Developed by the PC(USA) in response to the 222nd General Assembly’s call for church-wide conversations on race, the video series is designed to encourage conversations in local churches about race, racism, ethnicity and ethnocentrism.  Join us via Zoom on between 7:00-8:30 pm, to watch the videos and talk about them together.

The date and topic are:

Wed., June 1:     “Where Do We Go From Here?”
Check in next Tuesday's eblast for the Zoom link.

Advocacy Work

First Pres, through the Social Justice and Peacemaking Committee, has been
working with the Poor People’s Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival. Here are opportunities for education and advocacy

Get on the New York bus to the June 18th Poor People's And Low-Wage Workers Assembly and Moral March On Washington.

New York is joining people from across the nation to gather in Washington, DC for the June 18th Poor People's and Low-Wage Workers Assembly and Moral March On Washington. We will come together after months of mobilizing and organizing for this declaration by poor and low-wealth people and our moral allies to say that this system is killing ALL of us and we can’t…we won’t…we refuse to be silent anymore!

Saturday, June 18 departure times and locations in New York state are listed below. We will be returning in the late evening on June 18. We encourage all who are able to donate to cover the cost of their seat ($75). Lunch will be provided. Proof of vaccination will be required.

Join Us! Register now to reserve your seat!

It's not too late to contribute to the CROP Walk. Please go to our web page at
You have until June 3 to make a donation if you choose.

FELLOWSHIP TIME:  We're pleased to announce that Fellowship Time is once again being held either in Assembly Hall or outside on Willett St. following the Sunday Worship Service.  The Hospitality Team Coordinator Deacon David Hinchen is organizing this effort. As we no longer have a custodian and are no longer relying on flocks to oversee this task, we're seeking members of the congregation to assist with making coffee, bringing snacks, setting up and putting things away.  If you're available on any upcoming Sundays, please contact:

David Hinchen
(518) 489-1854 (call or text)

Members of the Albany Presby Anti-Racism Task force will be joining the Mass Poor People's & Low-Wage Workers' Assembly this June 18, 2022 for a Moral March on Washington and to the Polls!

Watch here to see WHY We are going to D.C. this June 18, 2022 to join thousands of other folk from all over the country to do MORE!

Three ways to #MeetUsInDC:

  1.  Get on the New York bus to the June 18th Poor People's And Low-Wage Workers Assembly and Moral March On Washington! ANYONE can go on these buses provided by the NYS Poor People’s Campaign. 2. Groups are HIGHLY encouraged to form your own cohort from your congregation/community to travel and attend the March together June 18. That is a  great option if you want to make your own schedule and find a comfy room to stay overnight in DC. Go here to RSVP your group and find resources for planning your trip to DC June 18

  3. The ARTF is forming a cohort and has space for 2-3 more people to travel together by train and stay at an AirBnB in DC Friday-Sunday, June 17-19, including attending worship locally before returning to NY.

If you’re going to DC June 18, please let us know! If you want to go but don’t have a group to travel with, let us know. Contact us at, so we can help you get connected and get there!
