President Ruto visits Tatu City
H.E. President William Ruto and Stephen Jennings, Founder and CEO of Rendeavour and Tatu City.
It was an honour to welcome H.E. Dr. William Ruto, President and Commander in Chief of the Defence Forces of Kenya, on his first visit to Tatu City Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for the official opening of Twiga's Agritech distribution centre.

“The confidence that Tatu City has shown in our country by establishing this huge private facility, we commend you and your team, and we wish you great success in your ventures,’’ said President Ruto.

Moses Kuria, Cabinet Secretary for Industry, Trade and Enterprise Development, commended the progress that Tatu City has made. “We have 13 privately owned Special Economic Zones in this country, and, among them, very few have taken off. Tatu City is one of them, and I’m very proud of that. We are going to work with Tatu City to create a benchmark for other private special economic zones.”

10,000 make merry at family festival
More than 10,000 CCI Kenya employees and Tatu City residents made merry at a free concert and family day to celebrate the launch of Tatu Central, the business district of Tatu City. The entertainment featured top Kenyan musical artists such as Ben Sol, Khaligraph Jones, Nviiri the Storyteller, Fena Gitu, DJ Adrian, Mejja, and Mwalimu Rachel. The event was one of the largest festivals of the year.

CCI’s contact center at Tatu City – the largest in the country – is being developed by Gateway Real Estate Africa. The five-story tower is custom designed for CCI, with training facilities and a career center to welcome 4,600 employees in 2023.

Tree planting within the city

On 26 November, we hosted more than 200 participants from Unity Homes, Dormans Coffee, GA Insurance, and Friendship Group – all Tatu City businesses – to plant 1,000 trees in the city. An AmCham Thanksgiving
Tatu City was honored to be part of the AmCham Thanksgiving dinner held at Villa Rosa Kempinski in Nairobi. More than 200 AmCham Kenya members, friends and partners came together for a lovely celebration that embodied the spirit of the American Thanksgiving holiday.  A lead sponsor, Tatu City was joined by USAID's Kenya Investment Mechanism, Delmonte Kenya, Abbott News, Coca-Cola Africa and Standard Chartered Bank, which also supported the event.
Eneo at Tatu Central
Construction of Eneo at Tatu Central, which is the first Grade A office and retail complex in an SEZ in Kenya, is underway. Eneo offers flexible office space with ample parking. The anchor tenant is CCI Global, with a 4,600C-seat call center. Restaurants, shops, and banks have already confirmed their tenancies at Eneo.

Twiga flags off new fleet
Twiga Foods, Isuzu EA and NCBA Bank have through a strategic partnership, flagged off 15 Isuzu commercial trucks to boost affordability and safe delivery of fresh produce to retailers across the region. The partnership will see up to 300 Isuzu trucks being released into the marketplace in phases. Speaking during the vehicle handover and flag-off ceremony In Tatu City, Twiga Group CEO, Peter Njonjo said that the latest move will go a long way in creating sustainable working solutions in Kenya and across East Africa.
Copia kicks off in Kericho and Uganda
Copia opened a 7,800 square feet facility in Kericho, making it the third largest depot for the company in Kenya after Machakos and Tatu City, the firm’s fulfilment center and headquarters. The B2C e-commerce also opened a 24,000-square-foot facility in Kampala, which will serve as a main depot for the area and cover 14 districts across the nation. With faster fulfillment times, these facilities will be able to meet rising customer demand for convenience and speed.

Shamas at Kongo Primary School
An introduction baraza (meeting) was held at Kongo Primary School in Kiambu by the Shamas Rugby Foundation, a nonprofit that uses rugby to uplift and support children and young people. The meeting's goal was to inform the community and parents about Shamas’ programs, staff, and coaches. The goal of barazas, which are community gatherings with the parents of beneficiaries, is to inform, discuss, and work together in various ways to improve their children’s lives. Tatu City is proud to be the largest supporter of Shamas.
