Image Description: KQTs from all different locations of the world gather on a virtual call

Reaching KQTs From All Across the Globe

It's been just one month since we've sent our last newsletter, and we've already learned so much. Calls have been hosted and anchored by SamCha Bay Area, KQT-DC, and KQTxNYC, receiving attendees from all over the map: from Jackson, Wyoming to Melbourne, Australia!
Light blue image with white border, red text. Title: 3 Ways to Make KQT Spaces More Inclusive. Body Text: Translate Language: Model inclusive behavior by always translating Korean words & phrases. Remember, many KQTs are not fluent in Korean and may feel excluded when korean is spoken without translation. Be Age Agnostic: Call folx by name and not age-based title in Korean. Find other ways to show affinity and familiarity. Why? Korean honorifics can suggest hierarchy based on age and generation. Respect Gender ID: Address people by their stated pronouns and/or explore ways to creatively neologize! Be aware, some Korean honorifics invoke gender for both the user and the recipient. As we continue to adapt to our new normal, KQTx National Network is working hard to create more ways for you to connect, all while improving our practices of inclusion and accessibility along the way.

Support the KQT Community Solidarity Fund

We're raising money to sustain and scale our activities, including financially supporting the labor of Facilitators and Interpreters. We believe that building safety and accessibility are critical to making our community spaces inclusive, especially as digital channels become the primary way we connect as KQTs.

Please consider giving a gift to support the labor of KQTx network volunteers, and please share our GoFundMe with your networks!
