Winter is Coming!
BE PREPARED FOR WINTER DRIVING.

Check your car:

  • Tire condition
  • Windshield wipers
  • Low temperature wiper fluid
  • Battery life
  • Scraper and brush
  • Headlights, taillights and blinkers
  • Emergency/breakdown kit
  • Windshield, windows and
    mirrors clear
  • Get a tune up

Check your driving when there is snow and ice:

  • Drive at a speed safe for the conditions
  • Increase following distance
  • Turn into a skid
  • Accelerate, decelerate and turn carefully
  • Approach traffic stops slowly
  • Do not use cruise control
  • Bridge decks and ramps often ice up before other surfaces
  • Plan your route

There have already been some pile-ups on the roads this year,
so be safe out there!

As we close up our homes for the season, think about carbon monoxide.

  • When is the last time you got a furnace tune up?
  • Do you test your carbon monoxide alarms monthly?

Attention to these tasks could save a life.
