In an attempt to keep things simple yet have adequate food for all, including those who have food restrictions/allergies, we are planning to host a crock-pot potluck at the Camas gathering. Here’s what you need to know:
- If you are coming from far and it is inconvenient to bring food, don’t bring any. There will be enough.
- If you bring a crock-pot dish, please bring a list of the ingredients. This will help people with food allergies/sensitivities to choose foods they can handle. We’ll have cards and pens in case you forget.
- Please keep your food simple. We only have an hour to eat, so people need to be able to simply get in line and serve themselves without a lot of last minute putting things together.
- Bring enough food to serve 6-8 people to compensate for those who can’t bring food.
- There will be friends greeting you to tell you where to take the food or who can take it to the designated place for you. We’ll have power strips to plug crock-pots into to hold the food at safe temperatures.
- If you would prefer to bring a salad, that would be nice too. Again, please list ingredients. Finger food veggies &/or fruit is always welcome.
- We will try to group gluten-containing foods into one area to help those who can’t tolerate it avoid it and be safe, but we do not have a gluten-free kitchen.
We will provide:
- Silverware and plates and bowls. We have some serving utensils.
- Drinks
- Sandwich makings for the end of the day. We will have bread (gluten-free for those who need it), lunch meat, cheese, condiments, lettuce, etc. We will not have peanut butter since that is a common allergen for children.
